Which spelling fills the gap?

Homophones are words that sound exactly the same but have different spellings and meanings, like their, there and they're. When you listen, the sentence tells you which one is meant; when you write, you have to choose.
Native speakers mix them up too, especially its and it's or your and you're. A quick test helps: if you can say "it is" or "you are" instead, use the spelling with the apostrophe.
